Auburn Officer killed during traffic stop honored at Fenway; vigil to be held Wednesday

AUBURN, MASS. (WHDH) - A vigil will be held Wednesday night in honor of Ronald Tarentino, the Auburn Police Officer who was killed while on duty.

It will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Lemansky Park, across from the Auburn Police Department.

About 300 people are expected to attend.

Tarentino was shot during a traffic stop early Sunday morning.

Police say they shot and killed the suspect later that day.

The Red Sox paid tribute to Officer Tarentino before Tuesday night’s game.

The team had his picture on the big screen at Fenway Park.
