An Ayer man has been held without bail after allegedly firing shots through the wall of an apartment building. 

Treyvon Choate, 23, was arraigned Wednesday on charges of discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, trafficking over 36 grams of cocaine, four counts of possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, possession of a firearm without a license, two counts of improper storage of a large capacity firearm improper storage of a firearm and disturbing the peace. 

On Wednesday, Ayer Police received reports of shots fired through the wall of a home on Harvard Road. 

When officers arrived, they determined a resident of 26C Harvard Road, had fired several rounds through his wall into the adjoining residence at 26B. 

One of the rounds struck a 70-year-old woman in the ankle while they she was lying in bed. She was transported to the hospital for treatment. 

At the same time, Ayer Police received notification that the resident of 26C had removed his court-ordered tracking bracelet. 

The incident is under investigation.
