Bar S recalls more than 370,000 pounds of hot dogs

WASHINGTON (WHDH) - In a massive recall, the Bar S Foods Company has announced it is recalling 372,684 pounds of chicken and pork hot dog and corn dog products.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Services department announced the recall Tuesday, citing listeria fears.

The hot dogs in question were produced on July 10-13 of this year.

The company announced its intention to recall the products due to recurring listeria issues at the facility. None of the products being recalled have produced a positive test for listeria as of yet, nor have there been any confirmed illnesses as a result of these products.

According to the USDA, Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn.

The products impacted by the recall can be found below. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
