CHELSEA, MASS. (WHDH) - A car crashed into a Logan Express bus and caught on fire in Chelsea overnight on Monday.

The car was traveling on Eastern Avenue in Chelsea shortly before 1 a.m. when it crashed into a Logan Express bus and erupted in flames.

Three people were transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. One of the three people was taken out on a stretcher.

Officials say the crash caused the bus to leak fuel, igniting the car and possibly leaking fuel into a nearby storm drain.

Clean-up crews were still on the scene early Monday morning around 5 a.m.

The extent of injuries and the cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
