STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a 13-year-old girl secretly recorded video of her father coaching her to lie about having been physically assaulted by him — and managed to slip the evidence to stunned prosecutors on the day of his court appearance in Pennsylvania.
Monroe County authorities said Tuesday that the girl recorded the videos on her cellphone last week. A police affidavit says the videos show her father, 56-year-old Deyon Taylor, instructing her to deny that he choked her in June and to tell the judge he was merely being stern with her.
The girl asked to speak to an assistant district attorney in private and showed the videos to her.
Taylor is charged with witness intimidation and hindering prosecution. He is jailed without bail. A phone message was left with his public defender Tuesday.
