The Finest Hours, a film depicting a famous rescue in Massachusetts, premiered in Boston on Thursday night.

The movie retells the story of the most daring rescue at sea in the U.S. Coast Guard’s History. Rescuers pulled approximately 30 distressed sailors to safety off the Cape more than 50 years ago.

The movies stars Massachusetts native Casey Affleck and Chris Pine. The pair attended the Thursday premiere at the Boston Common AMC theater.

Pine and Affleck said the movie was tough to shoot but appreciated filming in Massachusetts.

"What these men and women do daily .. is incredible and inspires all. It’s really a privilege to bring their story to life," said Pine.
