Governor Charlie Baker is hinting that he would likely not veto the Transgender Rights Bill if it reaches his desk.

Baker made the comments during an interview Thursday with WGBH radio.

"I take tremendous pride in the fact that many of these issues I’ve been on what I would describe as the right side of history," said Baker.

Last week, the governor received a strong negative reaction at an LGBT networking event.

People in the crowd booed Governor Baker when he wouldn’t commit to signing the bill, that would prohibit discrimination against transgender individuals.

During his speech, the governor only said he would consider it.
