HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) — A Hampton, N.H., man accused of killing his roommate has been charged with second-degree murder.

Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley says 70-year-old Peter Bartoloni is accused of using a sledgehammer to kill 56-year-old Robert Roderick on Thursday. He said the men had been roommates for a brief time before the killing.

An autopsy determined that Roderick died of multiple blunt impact injuries to his head.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Bartoloni has a lawyer. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Seabrook District Court.
