Patients may soon have a new method to fight opioid abuse.

The new medication called Buprenorphine, is implanted in a person’s arm and releases a steady dose of medication.

Doctors say this makes it easier to take consistently, but not easy to abuse.

The drug works with receptors in the brain to block both the high and the craving of opioid drugs.
