A 12-year-old boy who was born without limbs is no stranger to facing a challenge. The 7th grader’s latest challenge – playing football.

"I watch the Eagles and Demarco Murray and Ryan Matthews and I’m like, if he can do stuff like that I want to see if I can put in all the work and try and I’ll see what happens," said Gavin Toney, who plays as defensive tackle. "If you discount me, then you will be laying on the ground in pain or you might be looking at stars a little bit."

Toney’s teacher said he is thankful to see Toney excelling.

"As a teacher, you’re not ever gonna make a lot of money, but it’s moments like this and being around kids like this that money can never replace," said Toney’s coach, Mitch Hoffman.

Toney’s mother said she was concerned.

"I just hope that he doesn’t get hurt and does his all. Gives his all every time he tries it no matter what," said Jeanelle Toney.
