(WHDH) — Now that our Thanksgiving feasts are over, many are trying to get back on track with healthy eating.

But it can be hard to do, especially with all those leftovers in the fridge.

Dietitians suggest planning meals around proteins and vegetables while including small portions of leftovers like stuffing and potatoes.

This way you’re not wasting food – but not overdoing it, either.

Experts also say it’s important to stay active as it gets colder. If it’s hard to squeeze in an hour of exercise during the holidays, a shorter, high-intensity workout can be just as effective.
