WESTPORT, Mass. (WHDH) — One man survived after a boat he was duck hunting in flipped over killing two of his friends.

That man’s wife said all three men fell in to the Westport River but her husband was able to get to safety.

“He just kind of remembered that the boat was taking on a little bit of water and the next thing he knew it just capsized. He just knew to swim to a sandbar because he knew the area pretty well, the Westport River. I can’t even believe he survived that,” Lorraine Lubiejewski said.

She said all three men were experienced hunters and that the weather wasn’t a concern when they left.

Her husband is in the hospital where he is recovering from hypothermia.
