BOSTON (WHDH) - Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. went back-to-school shopping at Target Tuesday with some students from the Red Sox Scholars program.
Bradley handed out backpacks full of paper, binders and other supplies the students will need at school this year. Red Sox Scholars helps academically-gifted but economically-disadvantaged Boston Public School students.
“To be able to help someone in need, and to see the appreciation on their faces, the smiles, they really let you know that you’re doing the right thing,” said Bradley.
The Red Sox Scholars program also provides students with mentoring, tutoring and college scholarships.
