ATTLEBORO, MASS. (WHDH) - Parents in Attleboro are demanding answers after budget cuts have limited police patrols near schools.

Eight crosswalks in the area now do not have any crossing guards.

It comes after the city announced it would be cutting back education spending in June.

Police said they decided which corners would not have patrols by analyzing traffic in the area.

Parents believe the city is not putting their children’s safety first.

Officials are urging more parents to talk to their kids about staying safe while walking to school.
