BOSTON (AP) — Boston Mayor Walsh and Gov. Charlie Baker are among those urging the father of a 2-year-old shooting victim to cooperate with police investigating the case.

The toddler was in the back seat of her father’s car Saturday when she was injured by gunfire. She’s expected to recover.

Police have said the girl’s father, who was not injured and has ties to gang activities, was the intended target of the shooting but isn’t telling police what he knows about the incident.

Walsh has called the father a “coward” for not cooperating.

Baker on Monday told reporters he also hopes the man will come forward and share what information he has.

Neither the girl nor her father has been identified by police.
