RINDGE, N.H. (WHDH) — A small plane crashed into a lake in New Hampshire Tuesday evening.

The FAA said the experimental aircraft crashed into Lake Monomonac at around 8:30 p.m. Officials said the plane was trying to land on the lake when it flipped over.

Two people were on board the plane when it crashed.

They were able to go escape and are not seriously hurt.

It appears the pilot was trying to land the plane when it flipped over.

The plane was found around 300 feet offshore.

Rescue crews say the two people on the plane made their way out before they got to the scene.
