NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) — Police say a man attending a family party in Connecticut has been shot and killed.
The victim was shot in New Britain at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Capt. Thomas Steck says the victim was attending a family party and had just stepped outside for some reason when he was shot. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name was not immediately made public but police say he was in his 30s and apparently from either Hartford or Wethersfield.
It is believed the shooter was on foot and police do not believe it was a drive-by.
There were no reports of arrests.
