A father’s dangerous decision was caught on camera after he held on to the front of a moving bus in Mattapan.

The father, identified as James Burdett, said he was trying to get his 5-year-old daughter off the bus on Woodbole Avenue when he was dragged down the street.

According to Burdett, the bus was supposed to stop at one end of the street to let her off, but it didn’t. Burdett said he screamed and banged on the bus door, but the driver kept going.

Burdett now has a leg injury, but is expected to be OK.

Boston Public schools issued the following statement regarding the incident:

"The Boston Public Schools does not tolerate any kind of behavior that places people’s lives in danger or compromises public safety. The driver is now on administrative leave while Boston police investigate."

The bus driver’s identity has not been released and the driver is currently not facing any charges. Boston police are continuing to investigate the situation.
