Police in Woburn are looking for a Winthrop man suspected of multiple crimes, including a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.

Tyson Delgado, 29, is wanted for larceny, assaulting a police officer and leaving the scene of an accident after causing serious personal injury.

Police responded to a business in the North Woburn area to investigate a larceny complaint Wednesday afternoon. According to police, Delgado was on scene being interviewed when he assaulted an officer and fled the scene. The officer did not suffer any injuries.

Police said Delgado left the scene in a white Chevrolet sedan and was subsequently seen in the downtown Main Street area. Delgado then allegedly drove down a narrow side street where 65-year-old Alfred Pica was struck in the crosswalk. Pica landed on the hood of the car and police said Delgado continued to drive for several hundred feet with him on the hood.

"I slid down off the hood onto my knees and from that point on, I couldn’t feel my legs from my knees down," said Pica. "It all went numb." Pica suffered a fractured ankle in the hit-and-run.

Police said Delgado drove a few blocks away to Green Street, where he abandoned the car and ran away.

Anyone with information on Delgado’s whereabouts is asked to contact police at 781-933-1212
