BOSTON (AP) — Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker is about to be sworn in to a second term in office.

The Republican handily defeated his Democratic challenger Jay Gonzalez in November’s election to claim another four years as the state’s chief executive.

Baker and Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito will be sworn in on Thursday at noon at the Statehouse.

Ahead of the swearing-in, Baker and Polito plan to attend an interfaith ceremony at the Morningstar Baptist Church in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood.

Thursday evening, Baker and Polito have planned an inaugural party at the Museum of Science in Boston.

Baker and Polito have also scheduled events across the state on Friday, including inauguration celebrations at the Student Prince Cafe And Fort Restaurant in Springfield at 3 p.m. and Worcester’s Union Station at 7 p.m.
