BOSTON (WHDH) — The MBTA had a record year – bringing in more than $500 million in fare revenue.

The "T" said it collected $564 million last fiscal year which ended June 30.

That’s $100 million more than the previous year.

It was the first fiscal year since 2012's fare increases.

Despite revenue being up, ridership was down two percent.
