Methuen police are searching for an armed robber who’s on the run.
The man tried to take an entire cash register while several customers were inside the "Stop Quick" convenience store on Wednesday afternoon. The incident was caught on store video.
Police say the suspect brandished a knife during the incident.
The clerk used a golf club to fend off the alleged robber when the suspect grabbed the register.
Because the clerk had locked the door, the suspect tried to use the register to break the door glass and escape. The suspect was unable to break the glass.
The suspect then dove head first through the glass to escape.
Police are asking anyone with information to please come forward.
