A mother in Australia gave birth to a record-breaking baby, the newborn weighing in at more than 13 pounds.

Breanna Sykes, 18, welcomed Ziad on Sunday. The newborn weighed 13 pounds 2 ounces and measured in at 57 centimeters, the size of a 3-month-old baby.

Skyes and Ziad’s father were both large babies and doctors said the large weight at birth is genetic. Skyes was planning for a natural birth until she went into labor and doctors just how big her baby was going to be.

"They said he’s just going to fit if I try to push," said Sykes. "He could break my pelvis."

Ziad is the biggest baby at the health campus in 15 years and one of the largest babies ever born in Western Australia.
