CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) — Police in Rhode Island say a pet turkey and piglet have been stolen from a family farm.

Investigators say someone stole the animals from Confreda Farms in Cranston on Monday night. The farm had hosted its Columbus Day weekend fall festival earlier that day.

The Confredas say surveillance cameras show someone driving a farm vehicle after hours. They believe the vehicle was used in the theft and that at least two suspects were involved.

The Confredas say the 17-pound turkey named Julius and young piglet weren’t raised for food. Farm president Vincent Confreda says the piglet is still nursing and could die because it’s separated from its mother.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
