BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) — Police in Connecticut are looking for three suspects involved in the weekend beating death of a 55-year-old man.

Police say Miguel Lopez was found on the floor of a Bridgeport convenience store at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

Capt. Brian Fitzgerald tells the Connecticut Post the victim was taken to the hospital where he died of injuries sustained in the assault.

Police say the beating may have been sparked by money the victim owed to his attackers.

One of the men attacked him with a long wooden stick or bat, and a second is seen in surveillance video kicking him repeatedly while he was on the ground.

The death is the city’s eighth homicide of the year.
