Portland, Maine Police are asking the public for assistance in identifying a man who they said assaulted 3 women and in one case stole a bra.

According to the department’s Twitter account, three women were assaulted in the area of Congress Street in Portland from Neal to Weymouth.

In the first incident on April 30, a homeless woman told police a suspect grabbed her around the neck, grabbed money she had concealed in her bra, and left the scene.

On May 24, a woman said a man grabbed her from behind, strangled her, and took her bra.

On May 27, a woman reported being assaulted back on April 20 on Congress Street. She said the man, matching the same description as the previous two assaults, walked up behind her and grabbed her buttocks. She says she pepper-sprayed him and he fled the scene.

Police describe the man as a white male, roughly 30 years old, between 5-foot-7 and 6-foot, with long blonde hair. He is heavyset and has two lower lip piercings and wears a baseball hat and glasses.

Police believe all three incidents are related. In all incidents, the suspect approached the woman from behind in the evening or late evening. The suspect may live or frequent the area.

Anyone with information or who may have seen the suspect is asked to contact Portland Police at 207-874-8575.
