State police are investigating a crash involving a police cruiser in Lowell.
Investigators say a 71-year-old woman rear-ended a Chelmsford police cruiser on 495 South, right near Exit 37 Sunday night.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged.
Both the driver and the trooper were rushed to the hospital, and are expected to be okay.
Police have not said if that driver will face any charges.
