Police search for armed suspects who robbed Lowell liquor store

LOWELL, MA (WHDH) - Police in Lowell are looking for two suspects who robbed a liquor store at gunpoint Wednesday night.

The robbery occurred Wednesday at around 9:30 p.m. on Concord Street. Surveillance video shows two men entering the store, one wearing a black mask and one wearing a mask from the “Scream” movies.

Police said the man in the “Scream” mask carried a handgun and went to the register to demand cash. The other suspect carried a sawed-off shot gun, poking one of the employees with the barrel of the gun. The two employees were not hurt.

Police said the suspects got away with cash from the liquor store.

Less than an hour after the robbery, a clerk from another said he saw two men dressed in black and wearing “Scream” masks standing by a dumpster. He ran inside and called police. Officials believe it is the same two suspects who robbed the liquor store.
