PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WHDH) - A Providence man was charged with one count of second degree murder during his arraignment in Providence County Superior Court Thursday.
According to the Attorney General’s office, 26-year-old Victor Cruz of Detroit Avenue allegedly punched a man several times on March 7, 2015. The man, who was later identified as Arthur Porter, died from his injuries on December 19, 2015.
Cruz was initially charged with felony assault and disorderly conduct.
Cruz was released on $75,000 surety bail. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for June 22.
