BOSTON (WHDH) - Security has been increased at the French Consulate in Boston in the wake of the Bastille Day terror attack in Nice, France.

A Boston Police cruiser was stationed outside the Consulate as a precaution Friday after the terror attack that left at least 80 people dead, including two Americans. Boston Police said they are also coordinating security with the FBI.

Officials are consulting with Boston Police about security for Friday night’s annual Bastille Day celebration in the Back Bay.

Police said there is no known or credible threat to the Consulate in Boston at this time.

The Consulate General put a condolence book in the building’s lobby for anyone to sign and send their messages of support to the people of France. Flowers and notes of sympathy have also started showing up outside the consulate.
