BOSTON (WHDH) - Six people were rescued early Sunday morning after their boat sank near Castle Island.

Around 1:30 a.m., the Coast Guard received a distress call about a boat sinking in Dorchester Bay.

A 45-foot rescue boat found six people in the water near a partially submerged boat between Castle Island and Thompson Island.

All six people were rescued and transported to a pier for medical assistance.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the sinking is under investigation.
