YARMOUTH, MASS. (WHDH) - A Yarmouth man has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography after an investigation by Yarmouth Police.

On May 31, police received a tip regarding child pornography images being downloaded to an email address registered to a South Yarmouth man.

On June 1, Yarmouth police officers found the suspect’s home and began surveillance of his daily activity.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m., police saw the suspect get into the passenger seat of a car. They followed the car to a nearby gas station where officers encountered the suspect.

The suspect denied any involvement.

Police later seized his cell phone and found two child pornography images on it.

James Lawrence, 48, was charged with two counts of felony possession of child pornography.

He was released on $40 personal recognizance and is set to be arraigned Thursday in Barnstable District Court.
