SALEM, N.H. (WHDH) — A statue of baby Jesus that went missing from a nativity scene in Salem, New Hampshire was returned overnight Friday.

The statue was stolen recently from the manger in the town square. It was found by a public works employee early Friday morning back in the manger, where it had been left in a grocery bag.

This was the second year in a row that the statue went missing from the manger. A road crew found the statue last year, lying along the side of the road.
