ALLSTON, MASS. (WHDH) - An MBTA T operator is off the job after a girl was injured by the doors on a Green Line trolley, prompting an investigation.

Monday night, 8-year-old Faith Felt was getting off the trolley at the Harvard Avenue stop on Commonwealth Avenue with her mother when the door closed and her hand got stuck as she turned around to help her mother down the stairs.

“She was trying to reach over to me and the doors slammed on her arm,” said Faith’s mother, Mitzia Felt.

Faith’s fingers were cut and her wrist was left swollen. She was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, where she also received treatment for torn ligaments around her wrist.

The MBTA said it is now investigating but said the trolley operator was fit for duty and there was no obvious mechanical problem.
