FOXBORO, MASS. (WHDH) - FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts State Police trooper has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a motorcycle while working a traffic detail after a New England Patriots game.
The trooper, who has not been identified, was hit in a parking lot near Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. It happened around 4:25 p.m. Sunday. He is being treated at a hospital for injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening.
State police spokesman Dave Procopio says the motorcycle operator, 25-year-old Jose Perez-Rodriguez, of Everett, also is being treated at a hospital. He’s expected to face charges.
Procopio says Perez-Rodriguez was fleeing troopers who tried to stop him when he drove his 2009 Ducati against traffic and entered a parking lot where he struck the trooper.
The Patriots lost 16-0 to the Buffalo Bills.
