WORCESTER, MASS. (WHDH) - Members of the Worcester Police Department continue to combat prostitution activities in the Main South area.

An undercover female officer, acting as a decoy, was once again out on the streets. As a result, eight men and one woman were arrested.

The officer was approached by two men in a vehicle. The men offered the officer some crack cocaine in exchange for sexual activities. One of the men opened his mouth and showed her a small bag of the drug. The officer signaled the undercover officers nearby to approach the vehicle. As the officers approached the man swallowed the drug.  Both men were placed under arrest.

When officers searched the vehicle they found a small amount of crack cocaine.  Hector Chavarria, 48 of Worcester, was charged with sexual conduct for a fee, possession of a Class B substance, and interfering with a police officer. The second man, Jorge Figueroa, 33 also of Worcester, was charged with sexual conduct for a fee and possession of a Class B substance.
