BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (WHDH) — A Fourth of July fireworks show was called off in Illinois after some of the fireworks went off early and injured an employee.

Officials said the worker was setting up $12,000 worth of fireworks for the show in Bridgeview when friction caused one of the fireworks to ignite. The spark quickly spread to other fireworks, setting them off.

The explosion left the worker with burns but he is expected to be OK. The fireworks also started a car fire and brush fire.
