WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WHDH) — A bear has made itself at home in a Connecticut family’s house several times in the past week.

Bill Priest came home one day to find the bear in his kitchen. The bear ate an entire bag of marshmallows, as well as several other snacks.

“He had everything on the floor in there, eating,” Priest said. He captured the encounter on video before escorting the bear through the front door.

This wasn’t the first time the bear had gotten inside. A few days earlier, it had gotten into the garage fridge.

“I was mad,” Priest said. “I was just, really mad. probably cuz I knew it was gonna be a lot of work for me.”

Less than a day after the kitchen incident, the bear was back again, attempting to get in through the front door and ripping the screen door off in the process. Undeterred, the bear then made its way to the back door, trying to push it open.

“We’ve been having bears for years, but this is the first time ever done something that’s damaging to anything,” Priest said.

The homeowners called authorities, who dropped a trap baited with donuts. If they catch the bear, they’ll sedate, tag and rerelease it into the wild.
