The third-worst season in Boston Celtics history is over and president of basketball operations Danny Ainge can concentrate on continuing his rebuilding project.
The season ended with a 118-102 loss to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. That left the Celtics at 25-57 and tied for the fourth-worst record in the NBA.
They have a 10.4 percent chance of getting the top pick in the draft on June 26, a 33.7 percent chance of getting one of the top three and are guaranteed one of the first eight picks. They have another first-round pick obtained from the Brooklyn Nets.
The Celtics had plenty of problems with injuries and inexperience. But Ainge says rookie coach Brad Stevens might be the only thing in the organization he’s not concerned about.
