FOXBORO, MASS. (WHDH) - Several Patriots players donned red, white and blue socks during practice at Gillette Stadium Saturday.

The defensive backs wore the colorful socks in honor of Nate Ebner, who is away from the team because he is preparing for the Olympics in Rio.

Ebner will be playing rugby for Team USA.

“The DB’s, we try to be a unit, so everyone that had them we put them on today,” Patriots safety Devin McCourty said. “And they represent our guy over playing rugby, Nate Ebner, so we got to show him some love until he comes back, cheering him on and hoping he goes out there and wins the gold.”
