The Boston Red Sox said infielder Pablo Sandoval will undergo surgery on his left shoulder this week.
Sandoval, 29, has been on the disabled list since April 13 with a left shoulder strain.
So far this season, Sandoval has been 0 for 6 with four strikeouts in three games this season.
