Leicester Police said a large flag that flies over the Leicester Common was the target of what appears to be an attempted theft.
According to police, the flag was lowered and part of the rope that is used to raise it was cut Thursday night into Friday.
The flag wasn’t taken.
Police said a large flag was stolen from the same location in the spring and hasn’t been recovered.
