Authorities say a former Waltham Police officer shot and killed his wife on Saturday before taking his own life.
The Middlesex County District Attorney’s Officer identified the victims as former Waltham Police Officer Kevin O’Connor, 51, and his wife, 51-year-old Jeannine O’Connor.
Police found the couples’ bodies at around 5 p.m. on Jan. 16 as they conducted a well-being check on Forest Street in Waltham.
Authorites say Kevin O’Connor shot his wife several times and then killed himself.
Waltham Police, State Police and the DA’s office is are investigating the incident.
