Sex offender selling Nazi flag is booted from county fair

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A vendor booted from a Pennsylvania fair for selling Nazi flags turned out to be a registered sex offender.

The uproar began when visitors to the Bloomsburg Fair, which started Saturday, posted photos of the flags on the fair’s Facebook page. A red-and-white flag with a black swastika was draped from one side of a booth and a flag endorsing Donald Trump and declaring “Make America Great Again” was on the other side.

The vendor, Lawrence Betsinger, told Philadelphia Magazine if people don’t like what they see, they shouldn’t look at it.

The fair’s president says they shuttered Betsinger’s booth Monday afternoon after deeming the items offensive.

Betsinger pleaded guilty in 2007 to child pornography charges. He tells the magazine he didn’t do anything wrong.
