After being tied for second coming out of Tuesday’s preliminary heats, Hali Flickinger and Cammile Adams advanced to the 200m butterfly final in sixth and eighth places, respectively. They’ll swim the final on Wednesday evening.
Adams, one of the swim team’s co-captains, owns the 2016 Worlds silver medal in the event, but swam about half a second slower in the semifinals than she did in the preliminary heat.
Flickinger is making her Olympic debut in Rio.
