Biography
Marlee Wierda joined 7News as a Sports Reporter in January 2024. Born and raised in South Florida, she is excited to be back on the east coast and working in one of the best sports cities in the country! Marlee comes to Boston from Grand Rapids, MI where she spent two years covering professional and college sports. Since starting her career in Champaign, IL, Marlee has covered multiple Big Ten Championships, NCAA Tournaments, and the College Football Playoff. She also worked as a sideline reporter for NFL Network and ESPN.
Marlee is a proud graduate of Ithaca College. She spent four seasons playing for the women’s volleyball team. Her final season with the Ithaca Bombers ended with a run to the Final Four. Marlee speaks fluent Spanish and lived in Madrid for a summer.
In her free time, Marlee enjoys playing volleyball, traveling, and going out to new restaurants.
