CHELMSFORD, Mass. (AP) — One person has died and another is seriously injured after a head-on crash on Interstate 495.
Massachusetts State Police said that a Ford Focus crossed a median and struck a Toyota Camry traveling on northbound I-495 at about 6:40 a.m. Saturday near Exit 33 in Chelmsford.
The driver of the Focus was found dead at the scene. The driver of the Camry was transported to a hospital for a serious injury.
Police are investigating why the Focus left the roadway.
Travel lanes on northbound 495 were closed after the crash.
