MILWAUKEE (AP) — Prosecutors have charged three men with breaking into a liquor store as violence erupted last weekend in a Milwaukee neighborhood after a police officer fatally shot a black man.
A 45-year-old West Allis man and two Milwaukee men, ages 20 and 22, are charged with breaking into Clark Beer and Liquor as dozens of people clashed with police in the Sherman Park neighborhood Saturday night and early Sunday.
Officers who responded to a burglar alarm ordered those inside the store to surrender. The complaint says a juvenile came out followed by two of the men now charged. The third man charged was arrested after police sent a search dog into the store.
The store is not one of the eight damaged businesses under investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
