So…here we are, early Wednesday evening, it’s raining with dewpoints near 50—-more like a night in April–not February. Meanwhile, the news folks caught wind from the National Weather Service issuing a Winter Storm Watch for Friday Morning. Nothing extreme about that. AmIRight?

Tonight’s rain is a cool front that will slowly move offshore by early Thursday morning taking that rain & humidity with it. It will not take the warmth tho so plan on a very spring-like morning with temps starting in the upper 50s! Slightly cooler air arrives by afternoon pushing those temps down near 50 by afternoon—still way above the normal high of 37. Clouds give way to some sun.

By late tomorrow night (really very early Friday Morning) much cooler air arrives into southern New England. it gets tricky for a few hours as a storm forms along that aforementioned front and zips east of New England (like a car on a highway). This little storm will create some snow–especially across SE MA for a few hours early Friday morning. I think for you folks in Plymouth, Bristol counties as well as the Upper Cape will see accumulating snow on Friday Morning (looks like 2-4" of snow possible by noon Friday in those areas). This snow will be heavy & wet which is likely to snarl the Friday Morning commute. Farther north up into metro Boston, lighter snow is more likely and  this should keep snowfall accumulations down–between a coating to an inch or two on Friday morning. In any event, sunshine is back by afternoon and that should start the melting process.

That melting process continues this weekend with sunshine both weekend days and temps into the low to mid 40s.
