BOSTON (WHDH) - Red Line service has been restored following a cable fire on the tracks that happened early Friday morning.
Service was suspended in both directions, and passengers were shuttled between Kendall Square and Park Street stations.
Firefighters were on scene at the Charles/MGH T stop where the fire started on the Longfellow Bridge. They were able to put out the flames quickly.
Normal operations resumed on the Red Line with residual delays due to an earlier power problem. #MBTA
